Hay Forage Mowing Equipment

When it comes to cutting hay, your John Deere dealer has you covered.

Harvesting Equipment

John Deere has used years of field experience to create Harvesting Equipment that works quickly, yet gently.

Hay season across the Snake River Plain and Magic Valley runs hard from late spring through fall, and the equipment you run at first cutting sets the tone for the whole season. At Campbell Tractor, we proudly carry John Deere hay and forage equipment for sale at our six locations in Idaho and Oregon, from disc mowers and mower-conditioners built for high-yield irrigated alfalfa to round balers and rakes matched to dairy and cow-calf operations across our territory. Whether you're putting up alfalfa on tight irrigation cycles in Twin Falls County or baling grass hay across Owyhee County, our team stocks the hay equipment and carries the local knowledge to help you choose the right setup. Browse hay and forage equipment or stop in and talk through your operation's cutting and baling needs.
A complete hay operation requires matched equipment across every phase: cutting, conditioning, raking, and baling. John Deere builds hay and forage equipment as an integrated system designed to work together for consistent results from field to bale, and Campbell Tractor carries the full lineup for sale across our Idaho and Oregon locations. That includes Zero Series disc mowers and mower-conditioners for cutting and conditioning in a single pass, rotary rakes and tedders for windrow management and drying acceleration, and 1 Series round balers covering everything from smaller cow-calf operations to high-volume commercial hay producers. We also carry used hay equipment when available. Ask our team about current new and used inventory at your nearest Campbell Tractor location.
In Idaho, tight irrigation cycles and afternoon weather windows mean every day counts when hay is down. John Deere Zero Series disc mower-conditioners at Campbell Tractor combine cutting and conditioning in a single pass, getting hay on the ground and drying faster without a separate conditioning pass. Side-pull models (S250, S300, and S350) cover cutting widths from 8'2" to 11'6", suited to mid-size operations or fields with tighter headroom, and all Zero Series mowers include Quick Change Knives standard and a 5-year cutterbar warranty. Center-pivot models (C300 through C500) step up to cutting widths up to 16'4", with the C500 delivering 10% more acres per hour for high-volume irrigated alfalfa operations across the Snake River Plain. Conditioning options include impeller conditioners for lighter-stemmed alfalfa, urethane rolls for a gentler finish on legumes and grass hay going to the horse market, and V-10 or Tri-Lobe steel rolls for aggressive stem cracking and faster dry-down in heavy alfalfa cuttings. Speak with our team to match cutting width and conditioning type to your tractor horsepower and drying targets.

John Deere 1 Series round balers at Campbell Tractor cover the full range of baling needs across our Idaho and Oregon territory. The E Spec models (451E) handle dry hay on operations that prioritize simplicity and field reliability. The M Spec models (461M, 551M, and 561M) add wet silage compatibility and the optional Weave Automation system for consistent bale density from windrow to windrow. The R Spec models (461R and 561R) step up to a High-Capacity Pickup with 33% more capacity than the M Spec and 80 or more additional bales per day on high-volume cutting days, plus a Hydraulic Drop Floor for clearing plugs from the cab seat without stopping. All 1 Series balers support the G5e Display, Bale Scale, Moisture Sensor, and Bale Documentation through the John Deere Operations Center, giving you an accurate bale record without manual tracking.

Our rake and tedder lineup helps you hit your moisture target before the next weather window closes, important when alfalfa cuttings in Idaho need to be baled before the irrigation cycle returns. Stop in at your nearest Campbell Tractor location to compare baler models and discuss which pickup spec and bale size fits your operation.
